Zev is a kua-tin communications liaison employed by Borant and assigned to Carl and Princess Donut. She manages interviews, sponsorship contact, production orders, and access to outside information while living inside a water-filled support suit. Zev begins as a corporate representative but becomes a constrained ally whose affection for Earth television and for her assigned crawlers repeatedly conflicts with Borant policy and Syndicate control. Zev communicates through private audio links and appears in person as an aquatic kua-tin supported by a mobile water apparatus. Her job is neither dungeon guide nor attorney. She schedules appearances, conveys production decisions, manages public-relations problems, and explains which information can legally or technically pass between crawlers and the wider Syndicate. Donut quickly bonds with Zev over Earth television, celebrity culture, and performance. Carl is more suspicious, but learns that Zev often warns them as clearly as her employment allows. She argues with both crawlers, tries to keep them available for interviews, and occasionally uses indirect language when a direct warning would violate her orders. Borant removes or restricts Zev when her choices, family situation, or perceived sympathies become politically inconvenient. Replacement liaisons do not reproduce the trust she has built, and audience reaction helps bring her back. Her continued service does not mean she is free: employers, regulators, and hostile factions can threaten her family or alter what she is permitted to say. As the crawl passes from Borant to Valtay control and toward Faction Wars, Zev relays legal, military, and production developments. She warns Carl about Lucia Mar's connection to roughly 120,000 children, reports orbital conflict, and helps coordinate with attorneys and other liaisons. Each disclosure shows the tension between protecting the show and protecting people inside it. Zev remains alive outside the physical dungeon at the latest confirmation. She continues to communicate with Carl and Donut, although Cascadia and other production figures can override or script announcements. Her friendship with the crawlers is genuine, but her employment, family exposure, and limited authority prevent the relationship from becoming a simple defection from the Syndicate system.
