Signet

Tsarina Signet is a level 60 half-Naiad, half-High Elf Summoner, elite NPC, and central figure in the Vengeance of the Daughter quest. Covered in living tattoos that can become blood-and-ink elementals, she first appears as an apparent threat connected to Ringmaster Grimaldi. On the Sixth Floor she seeks the truth about her family and sacrifices herself to kill Queen Imogen, her sister and principal enemy. Signet has luminous skin, a strongly Naiad face, and moving old-style tattoos covering most of her body. The images include monsters, companions, and people connected to her life. With blood, ink, and summoning magic, she can draw them off her skin as temporary elementals whose strength depends on the represented figure, material, and sacrifice used to create them. Signet is introduced through the Third Floor circus story surrounding Ringmaster Grimaldi. The narrative initially encourages Carl to read her as a dangerous villain, but the quest reveals exploitation, altered memory, and a family history shaped by King Finian's predation. Carl and Donut's choices prevent her from being reduced to a disposable boss encounter. Signet is one of many daughters linked to King Finian and the Hunting Grounds. Queen Imogen is both family and enemy. Signet's tattoos preserve people whose memories or identities have been separated from ordinary bodies, making her skin a personal archive as well as a weapon. Areson the Wise serves as her bodyguard and trusted associate. On the Sixth Floor, Signet cooperates with Carl's group while pursuing revenge and the release of trapped figures. Her blood-and-ink summons fight hunters, elves, and creatures around the Butcher's Masquerade. The shifting alliances show that her designation as an elite NPC does not remove independent goals, affection, or moral responsibility. Signet sacrifices herself in the confrontation with Queen Imogen, killing the queen and ending the immediate family conflict. Her death releases or transforms parts of the tattoo archive rather than simply erasing them. Nadine instructs Carl to preserve a remaining golem and seek a pulpmancer, while Samantha carries Signet's request to help recover a body and memories. Signet herself remains dead.
