Gravy Boat is the name used by Beatrice for an orange-and-yellow Earth tomcat owned by neighbor Marjory Williams. Princess Donut calls him Ferdinand. After surviving the collapse and being used as surface-story bait, he becomes Warlord on High Sir Ferdinand, a level 100 cat, co-warlord of Team Retribution, and mayor of Shanty Town. Gravy Boat is an outdoor tomcat who visits Donut's window when she is in heat and fathers many kittens. Donut rejects the domestic name and insists he is Ferdinand. Beatrice calls animal control, adding the cat to the jealousy, ownership, and show-animal tensions of Donut's life before the collapse. Ferdinand survives on Earth's surface with Beatrice. Walk-on trackers abduct him for use as emotional leverage in a manufactured story involving Donut and Carl. He escapes the camp during a shootout, demonstrating that the production's planned reunion or hostage scene does not proceed as intended. The system later presents him as Warlord on High Sir Ferdinand, Cat, level 100. His Earth-animal or crawler-stock origin creates a rules workaround that permits unusual political status. The new title and statistics do not erase the pre-crawl cat whom Donut recognizes. Ferdinand becomes co-warlord with Juice Box and serves as mayor of Shanty Town. He is brash, status-conscious, obsessed with hats or turbans, and eager to define his relationship with Donut as an engagement. He rides the Simoom rhino and participates in alliance bargaining during Faction Wars. Gravy Boat, Ferdinand, and Warlord on High Sir Ferdinand are the same animal across different social names and system roles. He is not the separate boss pet created for Queen Imogen. He remains alive after his latest confirmed Book 7 appearance; Book 8 does not provide a clear later personal outcome.
