Imogen

Imogen is the High Elf country boss more fully titled Queen Imogen. She rules part of the Sixth Floor Hunting Grounds, uses the body and voice of the dead crawler Ifechi, and is one of Tsarina Signet's sisters and principal enemies. Signet sacrifices herself to kill Imogen during the Butcher's Masquerade. The short and royal page titles describe the same individual. Imogen and Queen Imogen are not separate characters. The royal title reflects her political and encounter role, while the shorter name appears in dialogue and index references. As a country boss, she occupies a tier above ordinary settlement or neighborhood bosses and anchors one of the Hunting Grounds' major story lines. Imogen belongs to the High Elf network descending from King Finian's extensive and abusive family history. Her position combines inherited status, magical power, and the authority of a floor boss. She participates in a society that turns daughters, lovers, hunters, and summoned beings into tools of court politics. Imogen appears through or appropriates the body and voice of Ifechi, a dead Earth crawler. The use of a recognizable victim destabilizes Carl's allies and demonstrates the dungeon's willingness to recycle human remains or identities as narrative assets. It does not mean Ifechi freely became Imogen or survived as her. Signet's Vengeance of the Daughter quest leads toward Imogen. Their hostility is both familial and structural, involving stolen memories, trapped bodies, living tattoos, and the legacy of King Finian. Carl's party becomes involved because saving Signet and Samantha requires confronting systems controlled by the High Elf court. At the Butcher's Masquerade, Signet sacrifices herself in order to kill Imogen. The queen's death is final within the published story and ends her direct rule, while the consequences continue through Signet's remaining golem, Samantha's search for a body, and the wider collapse of hunter authority. Later references to Queen Imogen describe the same deceased boss, not a revived duplicate.
