Loita is a kua-tin Borant representative who assumes direct control over Carl, Donut, and Katia's publicity after Zev is removed for political reeducation. A member of the Bloom faction, Loita previously handled Hekla and the Daughters of the Shield. Her tenure is marked by censorship, commercial pressure, and her accidental death in a production trailer during the Fifth Floor. Loita is taller and thinner than Zev and uses a rebreather apparatus around her neck. Like other kua-tin, she requires a wet environment, and meetings may leave her standing in brackish water. A dahlia emblem identifies her with the Bloom political movement. The symbol matters because Borant employment is entangled with the civil conflict affecting the kua-tin home system. Loita enters after Zev is taken away for reeducation. She treats Carl's party as a valuable account formerly attached to Hekla and argues that her production authority justifies strict control. She mutes speakers, interrupts interviews, blocks unwanted outside information, and presents censorship as routine rights management. Her polished language conceals the fact that the contestants cannot freely reject the relationship. On the Fifth Floor, Loita manages the Veriluxx Robot Donut promotion and the transfers required to place commercial replicas around the party. The toys are poorly made versions of Donut with incorrect fur, canned dialogue, and hidden electronics. Donut experiences the product as an insulting appropriation of her identity. Loita treats it as a licensing opportunity and production asset. Carl tampers with a Robot Donut access panel while investigating the device. A fingernail or loosened piece remains in a precarious position. When the toy later jumps, the part falls in the production trailer and triggers the incident that kills Loita in a secondary production zone. Carl describes the death as accidental, while acknowledging that he hated her and might have chosen violence under other circumstances. The legal and political response focuses on whether crawler action crossed into a protected production area. Loita's death intensifies the dispute between the Earth AI, Borant, and outside administrators. It also becomes a test of narrative control.
