Katia Grim, later identified as Katia Grimmsdottir, is an Icelandic crawler, Doppelganger, Monster Truck Driver, and former member of Carl and Donut's party. Her mass-based transformations make her one of the season's most versatile engineers and combatants. Katia's story includes liberation from Hekla, accidental killing, addiction, command, the Crown of the Sepsis Whore, pregnancy, and a voluntary departure from the active dungeon near the end of Faction Wars. Carl and Donut meet Katia as a frightened level 9 crawler whose doppelganger body can absorb matter and imitate forms. She joins their party, receives training and equipment, and becomes essential to train movement and mechanical plans. Her Monster Truck Driver class turns mass manipulation into vehicles, armor, weapons, and battlefield mobility. Hekla attempts to recruit Katia into Brynhild's Daughters. During the confrontation, Katia's transformed body and the train system accidentally kill Hekla. Eva pursues revenge, while Katia carries guilt and increasing suspicion that people value her primarily as a resource. She later forms her own party and develops a relationship with Bautista. Katia becomes dependent on substances hidden in dungeon consumables and struggles to disclose the problem. The addiction is linked to fear, shame, and the production's manipulation rather than presented as a single bad choice. Her friends attempt to help, but secrecy and pressure worsen the divide between Katia and Donut. Eva's death transfers the Crown of the Sepsis Whore to Katia, creating a rule that threatens future conflict with Donut. Katia also becomes pregnant through the dungeon's altered biology and takes a command role during Faction Wars. She remains a hero to the coalition while privately planning how to prevent the crown from turning allies into enemies. Near the end of the Ninth Floor campaign, Katia uses a boon from Eileithyia to become human and pregnant, making her ineligible to remain in the active dungeon. She chooses Louis as the biological father under the boon while Bautista helps attach the prosthetic limbs prepared for her restored human body. Katia disappears for transfer to the surface child facility. Carl remembers her as an art professor, crawler, hero, human, friend, and mother. Her safety and long-term freedom remain unresolved.
