Louis Santiago 2 is an Earth crawler first introduced as a level 22 Pest Exterminator and companion of Firas. Initially intoxicated, undertrained, and dependent on a powerful Cloud spell, Louis develops into a pilot, Army Air General, and trusted Princess Posse ally. He survives possession by the wraith Epitome Tagg, emergency heart reconstruction, Faction Wars, and the Tenth Floor before reaching the Eleventh Floor. Carl finds Louis in Hump Town with Juice Box sitting on his lap. He and Firas rely on alcohol to suppress fear and have not developed a disciplined plan. Mordecai gives them a treatment that causes violent withdrawal and permanently blocks ordinary intoxication. The intervention is coercive but also begins their transition into reliable partners. Louis's high-level Cloud spell can knock out groups, though stronger enemies recover quickly. He participates in the Town Hall infiltration, gnomish balloon ambush, and Fifth Floor castle operations. Carl assigns him the Royal Chariot and increasingly trusts him with vehicles, ground support, and coordination tasks. Louis develops an exceptional ability to operate dungeon aircraft. He becomes owner and controller of major flying equipment and receives the Army Air General designation. The shift from drunken crawler to specialist pilot is one of the coalition's clearest examples of a survivor building identity through repeated responsibility. On the Ninth Floor, the wraith Epitome Tagg becomes Louis's heart rather than merely riding inside him. Juice Box later assumes a hunter-wraith form and takes control during a bombing run. Carl's detonation, Tagg's hostility, and the resulting injuries leave Louis near death. Mordecai, Imani, Rosetta, Juice Box, and others perform emergency surgery and replace damaged organs, allowing him to survive. Louis drives and races during the Tenth Floor campaign, remains a target of the Outside Intelligence Minus, and participates in the final transition. An interlude shows his perspective as the remaining crawlers regroup. He reaches the Eleventh Floor alive, still connected to Imani, Carl, Donut, and the core coalition.
