Firas

Firas was an Earth crawler, close companion of Louis, and an allied pilot and technical operator. He joined Carl's wider coalition on the Fifth Floor, supported the Twister flying house, and helped prepare weapons and transport. He was killed by Queen Imogen's lightning during the Butcher's Masquerade. Firas appears with Louis during the Fifth Floor's bubble-world campaign. The pair become attached to the coalition that includes Katia, Imani, Elle, and the surviving Meadow Lark network. Firas is not treated as a headline fighter; his value lies in transport, installation work, and dependable support. During a dangerous town-hall operation he is injured and dragged to safety by Louis. After healing, he remains visibly shaken. Carl sends the pair toward a saferoom rather than pretending recovery of hit points erases trauma. Firas helps operate the Twister, the floating house used as an aircraft and mobile base. He and Louis prepare launchers, depth charges, chum bombs, and other modifications needed for Carl's plans. His concise status reports help synchronize attacks with weather and floor timers. The work places him among the coalition's practical specialists. A plan that appears to be Carl's inspiration still depends on people who install barrels, move the platform, load ammunition, and keep it flying. Firas and Louis are consistently paired and deeply attached. The text shows Louis rescuing him, working beside him, and being devastated by his loss.
