Chris Andrews

Chris Andrews 2 is a Meadow Lark maintenance worker, human crawler who becomes an Igneous Zulu Warrior, and younger brother of Brandon An. Quiet, physically powerful, and mechanically skilled, Chris survives enslavement by Maggie My and later develops a romantic relationship with Imani. He reaches the Eleventh Floor among the final twenty-three crawlers. Chris and Brandon work maintenance at the Meadow Lark adult-care community and are present after hours repairing an oven. Chris speaks rarely, leading others to underestimate him. Brandon compares him to Silent Bob and says that when Chris chooses to speak, people should listen. Chris assists Brandon in killing Chilly Goats and helps build the Speedbump redoubt. His practical skills support mobile defenses, ramps, and equipment. He remains committed to the elderly residents through the first descents, even as the caregiver group suffers repeated losses. An argument with Brandon causes Chris to leave with several men on the Third Floor. Brandon dies before they reconcile. Maggie My later enslaves Chris through a Scree worm or related control, uses his Igneous body, and forces him to kill Frank Q and pursue Carl. On the Fifth Floor, Chris helps occupy the Water Quadrant throne while still under later threat of control. Carl eventually uses a phase potion to reach the worm inside Chris's lava-rock body, pulls Maggie free, and cures the resulting infection. Chris survives and returns to Meadow Lark with his own mind restored. Chris and Imani fall in love and remain together through Faction Wars and the Tenth Floor. Imani urges him to take any genuine exit if it appears, even alone. Chris survives the races and Parade, checks in on the Eleventh Floor, and remains one of the last active Earth crawlers.
