Imani C

Imani C, generally called Imani, is a Meadow Lark caregiver, healer, guildmaster of Safehome Yolanda, and one of the principal commanders of the allied crawler coalition. Her butterfly-like wings provide healing, buffs, protection, and battlefield control. Imani carries the trauma of killing infected residents to save the group, but continues to build institutions intended to keep as many people alive as possible. Imani leaves a difficult family situation in Detroit, earns a nursing credential, and works at Meadow Lark. After the collapse she becomes the practical leader of residents, caregivers, and maintenance staff. When an attack turns vulnerable people against one another, she kills infected residents, including Yolanda, to stop the violence. The system rewards experience without reducing the moral cost. Imani does not remain an ordinary human after race selection. She gains large butterfly-like wings and a support build whose auras can heal, increase strength, reduce damage, improve spell levels, and disrupt enemies. Smart Juice, Tripper, protective shrouds, and stupefying effects make her valuable in both triage and coordinated assaults. Imani becomes guildmaster of Safehome Yolanda, named for her deceased friend. Team Meadow Lark controls the guild, which eventually unites multiple parties and dozens of crawlers. The organization formalizes the ethic that began at the care home: mobility, age, and combat level should not determine whether a survivor is worth rescuing. Alongside Elle, Imani plans Fifth Floor evacuations, Hunting Grounds responses, Faction Wars defenses, and later descents. She treats emotional stability as an operational concern, confronts Carl when secrecy endangers the group, and directs shield lines and healing under mass attack. Her authority comes from repeated competence and consent rather than leaderboard celebrity. Imani and Chris Andrews develop a romantic relationship after his rescue from Maggie My. On the Tenth Floor she tells him to accept any genuine exit even if she cannot follow, while Chris declares his love. Both survive the races and the Parade. Imani reaches the Eleventh Floor, joins Carl's final combined party, and remains one of the central leaders among the twenty-three surviving crawlers.
