Deceased Characters is an index and overview of named people, crawlers, NPCs, animals, and other sapient entities confirmed dead in the supplied Dungeon Crawler Carl novels. Death in the crawl may result from combat, floor collapse, quest scripting, execution, sacrifice, crawler-on-crawler violence, or administrative action. Because resurrection, copies, cards, and reused NPC templates exist, a later appearance does not always reverse the original death. The interface usually treats death as a clean status change, but the story complicates that certainty. A dead crawler may later appear as a card or manufactured representation without being restored as the same conscious person. NPCs can be recycled from stored templates, while gods may be avatars driven by sponsors. The index therefore distinguishes bodily death, avatar elimination, and the destruction of a copy. The First Floor establishes death as both ordinary disaster and broadcast product. Rebecca W. and members of her group are attacked by Frank Q. and Maggie My. Yvette dies after Maggie strangles her injured daughter. Yolanda Martinez, a Meadow Lark staff member, is among the losses that define the facility group's early trauma. Numerous unnamed crawlers die during the collapse, in initial mob encounters, and when stairwells close. The goblin settlement adds intelligent NPC deaths, including the Goblin Chieftain and combatants caught in Carl's attacks. Their deaths matter because later revelations undermine the convenient belief that NPCs are disposable simulations. Frank and Maggie's family represents the long afterlife of an early atrocity. A Mind Horror guide manipulates them into killing crawlers. Frank later repents and attempts to help Carl on the Iron Tangle, but Chris Andrews, controlled by the parasitic Maggie, kills him. Maggie later leaves Chris, tries to possess Carl, and is expelled and killed by Mongo. Their daughter Yvette remains the central victim of the family's collapse. The series uses allied deaths to change the structure of the surviving coalition. Miriam Dom dies on the Sixth Floor after vampirism and quest pressures make survival impossible. Her death transforms Prepotente's role and leaves Bianca as a surviving link to their family. Signet's death concludes a long effort to free her people and deeply affects Carl. Paz Lo dies after becoming an important ally, and his loss reverberates through the wider crawler network. Other deaths arise during the Butcher's Masquerade, the Hunting Grounds, the Iron Tangle, Faction Wars, and later floors. Hekla's death follows her conflict with Katia and the Daughters. Eva's fate is tied to the same destructive internal politics. Anton, Tserendolgor, Quan Ch, and many lesser-known crawlers illustrate how quickly even high-level survivors can be removed by a floor's central mechanism. Heather the Bear dies after Carl cures the parasite controlling her and grants her request to end the suffering of her ruined body. Numerous hunters die on the Sixth Floor when crawlers turn the Hunting Grounds against them. Sponsored deities and faction combatants can also be killed within game structures, although the sponsor behind an avatar may survive. The Eighth Floor introduces cards modeled on dead or living crawlers, including Leveled-Up Frank and Alpha Carl. These are not the original people. Their existence creates psychological weapons: survivors may be forced to fight a familiar face while knowing the construct is an authored combat unit. Similar caution applies to recordings, recap footage, summoned representations, and resurrected NPC roles. Carl's Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook becomes a form of memorial record, preserving prior crawlers' voices and failures. Parties also carry memories through names, equipment, pets, and habits. The crawl attempts to reduce a death to a statistic or highlight reel; the survivors resist by remembering circumstance and responsibility.

Pages should not list a character as deceased solely because they disappear from Carl's viewpoint. “Unknown” and “last seen alive” are distinct from confirmed death. When the system announces a death, the relevant book and scene should be recorded. When only a copy dies, the entry belongs on the copy's page rather than the original character's page.
