Chapter 11 of The Gate of the Feral Gods continues the Fifth Floor campaign in bubble 543. The chapter combines immediate survival work with new evidence about the bubble's overlapping castle stories. Its ending changes the party's next objective rather than functioning as an isolated encounter. The gnomes send a protected ambassador balloon with Leon the negotiator, Crixus the sniper, and Hicks the pilot. Carl's group must convince them that the dead Wynne is alive long enough to gain passage onto the Wasteland. Any failed detail can trigger the circling aircraft, expose Katia's disguise, or cause Hump Town's immediate destruction. Katia forms a false Henrik body around a changeling corpse and a bag of ghoul blood. Firas theatrically cuts its throat so the gnomes believe the dromedarian leader was a changeling. Donut claims that Wynne is merely suffering from a resurrection stupor and negotiates passage in exchange for treatment. The party presents Wynne's temporarily reanimated head through Second Chance, conceals its condition, survives magical tests for changeling identity, and boards the balloon while ground teams lock missiles onto the escorts. Donut takes control of the negotiation because her charisma and performance skills exceed Carl's. She refuses to release the supposed patient until the party is safely aboard and insists that her manservant accompany her. Carl allows the murder performance and false medical story because an honest explanation would not save the town. Louis and the ground crews accept separate responsibility for the planned ambush. Second Chance can temporarily reanimate a dead head, but the timer is short and the revived subject is hostile. The gnomes possess magic capable of detecting changelings and shielded balloons recognized as diplomatic symbols. Donut uses a vial of Mountain Dew as a fake treatment, supported by rehearsed alchemical language and the gnomes' limited medical knowledge. The deception holds. Leon orders the party and the disguised collateral transported upward, while Crixus remains suspicious and threatening. Wynne's temporary head disintegrates at a dangerous moment, but Katia preserves the visible body illusion and the gnomes accept Donut's claim that the medicine is working. The balloon rises toward the Wasteland. Carl and Donut gain access to the enemy formation without a frontal ascent. The locked ground missiles and Katia's concealed mass prepare a coordinated attack. The performance also proves how effectively Donut can weaponize media instincts in direct negotiation. The next chapter begins with the party already inside the shielded aerial target. Carl, Donut, Katia, Mongo, Louis, Firas, Henrik, Juice Box, Leon, Crixus, Hicks, Wynne, Langley, and the archers appear. Gnomish diplomatic balloons, changeling detection, Second Chance, fake ghoul blood, and the Mountain Dew treatment drive the deception.
