Chapter 10 of The Gate of the Feral Gods continues the Fifth Floor campaign in bubble 543. The chapter combines immediate survival work with new evidence about the bubble's overlapping castle stories. Its ending changes the party's next objective rather than functioning as an isolated encounter. With Wynne dead, Carl must reproduce Hump Town's daily proof of collateral before Commandant Kane orders a full bombardment. The party also learns that Water Quadrant liberation is flooding the necropolis, placing the Subterranean team in immediate danger. There is not enough time to solve both crises directly. Carl questions Henrik, the dromedarian leader, and learns that a paired pocket watch carries a visual code. Kane sends a hand sign, Wynne supplies a time, and Henrik adjusts the watch so its twin confirms the hostage is alive. Carl drafts a false response and assigns Katia a complex impersonation. He gathers crawlers and NPC children inside protected spaces, studies changeling restrictions with Juice Box, and receives the Squeeze out the Juice Box quest when the system reveals that her siblings are among the exposed defenders. Carl prioritizes civilian shelter even though producers treat the NPCs as expendable. He asks Katia to perform the core deception because her body can reproduce Henrik and conceal the dead changeling materials needed for the ruse. Juice Box admits that her people may copy dromedarians only under narrow entertainment rules, giving Carl another reason to save defenders who cannot simply transform and flee. The paired watches provide a low-technology authentication channel that bypasses ordinary chat. Saferoom protection depends on a crawler being present, preventing Carl from hiding every resident without sacrificing fighters. The Squeeze out the Juice Box quest awards a platinum box for saving the changelings mixed among the anti-air crews. Katia sends the false watch response. The gnomes terminate communication rather than accept the proof, indicating that the deception has triggered the next stage of contact. Hump Town's children and vulnerable residents are gathered, defenders remain outside, and Carl's party prepares to meet an arriving gnomish delegation with the dead hostage concealed inside a larger performance. The false proof delays immediate annihilation but commits the party to an even riskier balloon negotiation. The quest makes Juice Box's personal loyalty visible and identifies the changeling defenders as people Carl can save. Flooding in the necropolis demonstrates that castle order has consequences, while the unfinished Subterranean problem continues to pressure the Air team. Carl, Donut, Katia, Mordecai, Henrik, Juice Box, Louis, Firas, Langley, Gwen, Skarn, and Hump Town's children and defenders appear. Commandant Kane, paired pocket watches, the Squeeze out the Juice Box quest, and the post-liberation flooding rule are introduced or clarified.
