Yemaya is an Orisha river goddess and former retainer of Eileithyia. During the Eighth Floor, her damaged shrine occupies the seventh position in the Celestial Thorn Room. Carl and Donut repair it, allowing Yemaya to return, grant special cards to their squad, and rejoin Eileithyia's Ascendency network. Yemaya is associated with rivers, motherhood, and an older Orisha family. She had nearly reached the Halls before losing power and becoming unavailable as an active deity. Eileithyia remembers her as a good friend and desirable retainer. Huanxin Jinx's Eighth Floor planning therefore treats the shrine as both a religious objective and an Ascendency recruitment opportunity. She is grieved by Anton's corpse in her temple and recognizes that her return carries obligations. Her interaction with Eileithyia confirms a preexisting relationship rather than a new sponsor contract. Yemaya gives each participating squad a special card, while Eileithyia supplies her own boon.
