Lexis

Lexis is Odette's on-site assistant and production coordinator. She manages timing, transfers, guest movement, and studio logistics during several of Carl and Donut's appearances. Her quiet presence also makes her a witness to Odette's disclosures about Mordecai, Huanxin Jinx, and the Celestial Ascendency. Lexis is usually seen carrying a tablet and monitoring a tight production schedule. Unlike remote holographic participants, she is often physically present with Odette and the crawler guests. She moves people between green rooms, studio sets, and transfer points. Lexis supplies countdowns, announces when segments begin or end, and returns Carl and Donut to the appropriate transfer space. The work is easy to overlook because successful coordination appears as brief interruptions, but studio access depends on her timing. During Odette's private conversation with Carl, Lexis sits nearby as Odette recounts her earlier crawl, Armita, Pieter, Huanxin, Dodola, Mordecai, and Uzzi. Lexis repeatedly warns that only minutes remain. Her sharp intake of breath at Odette's proposed sacrifice indicates that some details are new or alarming even to her. Lexis confers with Zev during production holds, creating a link between Odette's independent program and the crawler liaison system. The cooperation does not prove that they share employers or political loyalties. Both need accurate transfer and segment information to keep the broadcast functioning. Lexis is not shown fighting, entering a divine shell, or becoming a crawler. Her power comes from access and proximity to Odette. No confirmed death or departure appears through Book 8, so her status remains alive.
