Chapter 17 of The Gate of the Feral Gods continues the Fifth Floor campaign in bubble 543. The chapter combines immediate survival work with new evidence about the bubble's overlapping castle stories. Its ending changes the party's next objective rather than functioning as an isolated encounter. The Air Quadrant is liberated, but Bonnie remains chemically detached from her father's death and the violent boss fight. Carl and Donut must stabilize the child, recover equipment, move the floating house, and respond to Zev and Loita's media demands. The party also needs to prepare for the Mad Dune Mage stage without ignoring the human consequences of the victory. Katia arrives and helps examine Bonnie. The party searches the house, recovers furnishings and the disabled gnomish vehicle, and brings Juice Box in a gnome form to care for the child. Carl and Donut level, review the leaderboard, train, and continue improving Robot Donut. Zev and Loita arrange another product appearance. When Bonnie's potion wears off, she recognizes that Denise killed Kane and begs for more emotional suppression. Skarn comforts her by explaining that Hump Town cared for him after his own parents died. Carl refuses to dismiss Bonnie as an NPC problem. He transfers her to Juice Box and the dromedarian community rather than leaving her alone in the captured castle. The party permits grief instead of supplying another numbing potion. Loita's instruction to stop caring about NPCs convinces Carl that ordinary negotiation with the production will not protect people he considers real. Liberating the Air Quadrant advances the floor to Stage 3 and makes the house a transport platform. The Robot Donut prototype receives another iteration but remains commercially controlled. Leaderboard movement shows how boss experience and media exposure affect rank differently. Bonnie's potion demonstrates emotional removal rather than healing. Bonnie begins grieving with Skarn and Juice Box nearby. The party is scheduled for a Veriluxx appearance, Katia completes her own media obligation, and preparations continue for the Land Quadrant. Carl privately commits to a risky response after Loita's contemptuous message, setting up the sabotage executed during the commercial. Bonnie and Skarn become part of Hump Town's post-battle community. Juice Box's caregiving deepens her alliance with Carl's network. The product interview creates access to Loita and off-floor technology. Carl's decision marks a shift from reacting to production abuse toward deliberately imposing consequences on an administrator. Carl, Donut, Katia, Mongo, Mordecai, Bonnie, Juice Box, Skarn, Zev, Loita, Robot Donut, Florin, Prepotente, Lucia Mar, and other leaderboard crawlers appear or are discussed. Stage 3, Bonnie's withdrawal from the potion, and the Veriluxx broadcast appointment are central.
