Chapter 14 of The Gate of the Feral Gods continues the Fifth Floor campaign in bubble 543. The chapter combines immediate survival work with new evidence about the bubble's overlapping castle stories. Its ending changes the party's next objective rather than functioning as an isolated encounter. Chris Andrews reaches Hump Town in an Igneous body, apparently seeking Carl after the death of Brandon. His player-killer skulls and altered personality make his intentions uncertain. Before the group can fully question him, Maggie My appears with a device intended to summon the god Algos and destroy Carl, Donut, and much of the settlement. The party questions Chris and notices contradictions in his behavior. Maggie attacks, Katia shoots her, and Carl secures the summoning object before it activates. Imani and Elle reveal that Chris is being controlled by a parasite or worm embedded inside his transformed body. Maggie's sponsors, Prince Maestro and Crown Prince Stalwart, supplied the divine plot. Chris asks Carl to kill him before control resumes. Instead, the group allows the personal-space timer to expire with Chris and Maggie trapped together inside, physically separated from the party. Carl refuses Chris's request for death even when Katia offers to take responsibility for the player-killer skull. Donut chooses containment over execution and argues that the sealed personal space buys time to find a cure. The decision accepts the risk that Maggie may escape or force Chris to attack later, but preserves the possibility of restoring Brandon's brother. Maggie's control is described as a parasite that cannot be removed with currently available materials. Once fully integrated, saferoom protection does not simply cancel the effect. The summoning grenade would call Algos, god of pain, and likely kill the entire town. Sponsor influence can therefore deliver divine weapons and private confrontation opportunities outside normal floor balance. Chris and Maggie remain locked inside the personal space after Carl, Donut, Katia, and Mordecai exit. The party keeps access and monitoring while Mordecai searches markets for an antiparasitic solution. The Algos device is secured, and the immediate threat to Hump Town is stopped without killing Chris. The containment preserves Chris for his later rescue and eventual relationship with Imani. It also leaves Maggie alive to continue manipulating events. The involvement of the Skull Empire expands Carl's enemy landscape beyond local floor bosses. Juice Box waits to explain the changeling operation, while the delayed castle assault moves into the remaining night window. Carl, Donut, Katia, Mordecai, Chris Andrews, Maggie My, Imani, Elle, Juice Box, Mongo, Prince Maestro, Crown Prince Stalwart, and Algos appear or are discussed. The control parasite, god-summoning grenade, Igneous race, player-killer marker, and personal-space containment rule are central.
