Chapter 7 of The Gate of the Feral Gods continues the Fifth Floor campaign in bubble 543. The chapter combines immediate survival work with new evidence about the bubble's overlapping castle stories. Its ending changes the party's next objective rather than functioning as an isolated encounter. Wynne is dead, Hump Town's protection is failing, and hostile guards converge on the Town Hall. Carl must extract the team, understand how the gnomes verify collateral, and keep the settlement alive long enough to develop a replacement. At the same time, the Subterranean party remains trapped in a lethal necropolis without a usable map. Donut opens an escape with Hole, and the party uses Puddle Jump and other abilities to leave the building. Carl sends Louis and Firas to recover, asks about heat signatures that might identify changelings, and learns that Hump Town must provide proof every day after sunrise. Sponsorship bidding ends: Carl receives the Open Intellect Pacifist Action Network, Donut receives Veriluxx RealPet Companions, and Katia gains another sponsor. In the Desperado Club, Carl and Katia meet Morris, Bobby, and the tomb team, then agree to map a safe route through the necropolis. Carl refuses to treat the failed quest as permission to abandon Hump Town. He also shares map work with the Subterranean crawlers because their failure would return the castle problem to everyone else. The party accepts new sponsors cautiously, recognizing that wealth can provide survival tools while hiding political aims. Katia undertakes the painstaking mapping task rather than demanding immediate payment or control. The chapter establishes daily collateral detail review as a timed rule. Heat-sensing equipment may distinguish changeling brains from dromedarian bodies. Not-for-Conquest status marks Carl's sponsor as a tax-exempt or nonprofit political entity. The necropolis contains traps, vertical rooms, dead ends, and a dependence on Bobby's trap-detection specialty. Carl leaves Donut and Katia working with the tomb raiders while he purchases supplies and returns to the Air Quadrant. The sandstorm arrives. Hump Town is preparing for aerial attack, the proof deadline remains unresolved, and the party has only fragments of a plan. New sponsor boxes and the completed map work may provide tools, but neither guarantees survival. The sponsor assignments shape loot and media pressure for the rest of the floor. The tomb map reduces deaths and creates reciprocal obligations between quadrant teams. Juice Box's hidden community becomes easier to identify, and the requirement to prove collateral leads directly to Carl's attempt to deceive Commandant Kane's forces. Carl, Donut, Katia, Mongo, Louis, Firas, Mordecai, Gwen, Morris, Bobby, Juice Box, Zev, Loita, and the tomb raiders appear or communicate. The Open Intellect Pacifist Action Network, Veriluxx, sponsor boxes, Weird Shit Alley, and necropolis map become central continuing elements.
