Lika

Lika is a fictional character whose likeness is reproduced in a personal companion device owned by Ghazi. The name later applies to an ooze familiar and is confused with the vessel occupied by Psamathe, also called Samantha. These related forms should not be treated as one continuous person. The original Lika belongs to an entertainment story or play. Her characterization is itself loosely based on an inaccurate history of Psamathe. The chain begins with adaptation rather than biography: a real or divine past is distorted into fiction, and fiction is then manufactured as an intimate commodity. Ghazi becomes obsessed with Lika and owns a personal companion device modeled after her. He leaves Tish for the fantasy and believes Lika's soul is trapped in the device. His conviction gives the object emotional power, but it does not establish that the fictional character possesses an independent soul. The device becomes involved in the failed attempt to summon Yarilo at the naiad castle. It is crystallized in the cleaning-pod event. The crisis creates several identity confusions because Psamathe's essence, the doll-like vessel, and other magical materials are redistributed. An ooze familiar later takes Lika's appearance and marries Ghazi. The familiar expresses jealousy and behaves as a participant in the relationship. It is a being using the Lika form, not proof that the fictional Lika has crossed into ordinary existence. Psamathe occupies a detached companion-device head and becomes widely known as Samantha. Characters sometimes call the object the Lika head because that is the model's appearance. Signet recognizes the deeper identity connected to Psamathe. Samantha's personality, memories, and history are not reducible to the commercial character printed on the vessel. Four references must be kept separate: the fictional Lika, the manufactured companion device, the ooze familiar using Lika's appearance, and Psamathe using the device head. Physical resemblance and shared naming do not create a single biography. The dungeon repeatedly exploits the tendency to treat a recognizable image as evidence of personal continuity. No independent living Lika is confirmed. The fictional figure continues as an image and name; the device undergoes transformation; the ooze familiar is a separate entity; and Samantha remains Psamathe. Status claims belong to those individual forms rather than to a presumed original woman.
