Jola is a mythic Icelandic Yule Cat represented as a powerful T'Ghee totem. Katia gives the card to Donut on the Eighth Floor. Jola manifests as an enormous black cat surrounded by snow and flurries, with a candle on her head, and attacks with little concern for the safety or wishes of nearby crawlers. Jola draws on the Yule Cat tradition and is explicitly framed through Icelandic myth. Katia transfers the card to Donut as the crawler teams refine their T'Ghee squads. The transfer makes Jola available to Donut but does not turn the creature into an ordinary pet or a continuously present ally. When summoned, Jola is larger than Shi Maria and visually dominates the battlefield. Snow and cold effects accompany the black cat, while the candle on her head provides illumination. The reveal verse emphasizes hunger for the idle, the unclothed, and even children, underlining that the totem's mythic appetite is not morally aligned with its summoner. Jola attacks the Nightgaunt deckmaster directly and crushes him. Her size, durability, and effectiveness against mothlike enemies make her a high-value battlefield card. She communicates little and remains impassive, so allies must plan around what she is likely to do instead of assuming precise obedience. The T'Ghee system repeatedly warns that totems are not safe extensions of crawler will. Jola nearly eats Carl in a later sequence, reinforcing the distinction between possession of a card and control of a person. The same danger appears when other totems turn on summoners or pursue their own desires. Jola remains associated with the card system rather than receiving a permanent independent body. A defeat within an encounter does not necessarily constitute final death. At the latest confirmed point she is an active or retained totem whose ultimate release, destruction, or continued use has not been separately resolved.
