Goblin Shamanka

Goblin shamankas are level 7 female goblin spellcasters and clan leaders encountered on the First Floor. The best-known individuals are Rory and Lorelai, whose Anguish Magic and authority place them below the clan's war chieftain. Donut persuades them to help build equipment and reveal information about how goblin NPCs experience the dungeon. The System AI presents shamankas through a deliberately crude description of initiation and gender. In practice they are religious or magical authorities within the goblin workshop community. They answer to the chieftain while directing engineers, Bomb Bards, and ordinary clan members. Rory has conspicuous facial piercings, while Lorelai appears alongside her as a named representative of the template. Donut uses charisma, performance, and emotionally targeted questions to make the pair discuss their families and grievances. The scene shows social skills changing an encounter that could have become immediate combat. The shamankas arrange coal, tools, grenades, and engineering labor for Carl and Donut. Their clan builds the copper chopper and sidecar from supplied plans and materials. This cooperation gives the crawlers mobility while preserving the goblins' own chain of command. Rory and Lorelai know that they cannot descend normally. They explain that stairwells dissolve NPCs who attempt to use them, evidence that scripted inhabitants understand at least part of their imprisonment. Their dislike of the chieftain does not erase loyalty to family and clan. After learning where the llama creatures' drug supply is located, the goblin clan launches a raid. Shamankas, engineers, Bomb Bards, and vehicles join the assault. The books do not provide an individual death scene for Rory or Lorelai before the floor collapses. Their later fates remain unconfirmed.
