Chapter 22 of Dungeon Crawler Carl follows Carl and Princess Donut during the meeting team meadow lark portion of the Earth crawl. The chapter advances the immediate survival plot while introducing rules and relationships that continue beyond the First Floor. The stairwell route is blocked by a circular boss maze, and the nearby survivor group includes roughly forty elderly residents, many using wheelchairs or walkers. They cannot outrun the boss or travel far before collapse. Carl and Donut need to decide whether to continue alone or make the group's evacuation their problem. They meet Brandon Andrews, Chris Andrews, Yolanda Martinez, Imani, Agatha, and the Meadow Lark residents. Brandon explains how caregivers and first responders carried residents into the dungeon, how many helpers left or died, and how the remaining fighters cleared nearby neighborhoods. Imani's unusually high level reflects her forced killing of infected patients. The nearest Waffle House safe room is full, while other rest areas offer limited benefits. Carl studies the maze entrance, hears how earlier groups vanished inside, inventories the group's weapons and levels, and proposes a final period of training before a coordinated return. Brandon, Chris, Yolanda, and Imani refuse to abandon the residents even though doing so would improve their personal odds. Carl decides to join their effort because searching for a different stairwell would consume time they do not have and because the group's cause is worth the risk. He shares his own encounters, warns them about crawler killers, and asks everyone capable of fighting to train. Agatha remains apart from the group, already displaying the independence that later proves significant. Safe rooms have capacity limits and may deny entry when full. Healing does not automatically remove age, disability, or every preexisting condition. Boss-guarded stairwells can coexist with random unguarded exits, but locating another route is uncertain. Tutorial managers may provide limited local information, while crawler levels can rise through traumatic kills as well as conventional combat. A group can share boss credit if its members participate in the encounter. Carl promises to return after grinding, watching the next episode, and sleeping. The Meadow Lark fighters agree to prepare for an assault that will move the residents through the borough-boss route. Imani asks how he intends to accomplish it, and Carl claims to have an idea even though the plan is not yet formed. The meeting creates Carl and Donut's first major allied crawler network. Imani, Elle, Brandon, Chris, Yolanda, and the Meadow Lark community remain central across later floors. The obligation to protect slower survivors forces Carl to design operations around evacuation rather than personal victory. Agatha's presence quietly connects the opening novel to the deeper residual storyline. Carl, Princess Donut, Brandon Andrews, Chris Andrews, Yolanda Martinez, Imani, Agatha, the Meadow Lark residents, Mistress Tiatha by discussion, and the rolling borough boss appear.
