Chapter 19 of Dungeon Crawler Carl follows Carl and Princess Donut during the war criminal achievements and sapper development portion of the Earth crawl. The chapter advances the immediate survival plot while introducing rules and relationships that continue beyond the First Floor. Carl and Donut have escaped the workshop but must cross a rot-sticker neighborhood while processing the mass-casualty attack. The new safe room offers temporary shelter, yet the collapse clock has fallen below three days and they still have no staircase. The System AI awards You Monster for killing an infant and War Criminal for killing more than twenty noncombatants, then explicitly retracts a false assurance that the children survived. Rot Stickers attack from walls and ceilings, detonate on contact, and attempt to inflict Take Down. Carl's trollskin shirt prevents the knockdown, allowing the pair to reach a sparse rest area. They open boxes, review explosive upgrades, and learn IED skill level 3. Donut receives beguiler rewards, armor, Weapon Oil, a Desperado Pass, and the Minion Army tome. Carl receives a ring, a Determine Value skill potion, and a menu that ranks inventory items by worth. Carl uses the safe room to audit every reward rather than immediately resuming travel. He drinks the skill potion because valuation can help identify overlooked tools. Donut keeps Minion Army despite lacking enough spell points to learn it. Carl rejects the AI's attempt to define the bombing as either harmless fiction or personal monstrosity. He accepts responsibility for the deaths while identifying the room as a deliberate trap designed to provoke exactly that outcome. Rot Stickers use suicidal attachment attacks and Take Down. IED increases improvised explosive yield while reducing accidental detonation risk. Higher Explosives Handling reveals more device information and unlocks a Sapper menu that requires a dedicated workbench. Determine Value begins as relative inventory sorting rather than an exact market price. A Desperado Pass prevents acquisition of a Vanquisher Pass, making club affiliation mutually exclusive. Carl lies on a cot with Donut and states that the dungeon may hurt or kill him but will not break him. The party has stronger gear, improved explosive knowledge, and a clearer sense of its most valuable inventory. The emotional wound remains unresolved, and the staircase search must resume after a short rest. Carl's declaration becomes a central expression of his resistance. The Sapper and IED progression grows into his defining tactical specialization, while the Desperado access path connects him to later off-floor markets and allies. The Minion Army tome foreshadows Donut's charm-based command abilities. Most importantly, the chapter frames moral memory as something the production cannot be allowed to control. Carl, Princess Donut, Rot Stickers, the System AI, the dead goblin noncombatants, and the absent safe-room builders appear directly or through notices and reflection.
