Donut's pet items form a chain of care and control that runs from her own transformation to her relationship with Mongo. The Enhanced Pet Biscuit changes Donut from Carl's cat into a sapient crawler. Ordinary pet biscuits continue to operate as system resources. The Heal Critter Spellbook gives her a specialized support tool. The Master Pen Key concerns access and containment. The enchanted crupper is equipment for a quadruped companion or mount rather than for Donut herself.
The category therefore includes items used on pets, learned for pets, or carried by Donut to manage a bonded creature. It does not imply that Donut remains property after becoming sapient. The system's vocabulary lags behind the moral reality, and the story repeatedly uses that gap to expose how the crawl commodifies living beings.
Mongo makes the collection operational. Healing, access, handling, and movement equipment allow Donut to treat him as a continuing partner instead of a disposable summon.
Overview
Pet Bonding is the process by which Mongo shifts from a dangerous unbonded pet-class creature into Donut's bonded companion and Royal Steed.
Description
Pet Bonding is a mechanic and creature-behavior page tied to Mongo's late Book 1 arc.
After Donut chooses the Mongoliensis, the creature is not instantly safe or fully loyal. Carl and Donut must manage danger, feeding, rescue, and behavior until the bond completes.
The bonding sequence uses Brindle Grubs, Danger Dingoes, Brindled Vespas, Pet Biscuits, and Donut's protective instincts to show that pet ownership in the dungeon is dangerous, tactical, and emotional.

Shared risk
An item used on Mongo can change Donut's tactical choices even when it grants her no direct statistic. Better mobility may encourage a more dangerous charge; improved healing may let the pair remain in combat longer; a key can expose them to whatever was confined behind a gate. Pet gear should therefore be evaluated at the bonded-unit level, including the new risks created by greater capability.
Storage and access
Some pet supplies remain useful only if Donut can reach them during an emergency. A healing book already learned, a biscuit stored in inventory, and tack currently fitted to Mongo have different access times. Encounter notes should identify that state when it changes the result.
