Anton

Anton is a crawler, crossbow specialist, cousin of Paz, and member of the three-person party that includes Sister Ines. His Fugitive class and guarded temperament reflect a survival strategy built around evasion and ranged force. Anton dies when the god Ogun smites him after the party helps restore Yemaya's shrine against Ogun's command. Anton travels with Paz and Sister Ines after their larger group suffers severe Sixth Floor losses. Tserendolgor describes the cousins as protective of Ines and identifies Anton as a highly capable crossbow user with a Fugitive class. The trio often operates independently while maintaining contact with Osvaldo's network. Anton is stoic, suspicious, and easily irritated by distractions. His reserve contrasts with Paz's emotional intensity and Ines's religious presentation. He nevertheless accepts dangerous cooperative work when the party believes it will secure divine favor or future survival. Huanxin Jinx contacts Sister Ines through divine sponsorship and encourages the group to help Carl repair a Yemaya shrine. The restoration allows Yemaya to re-ascend. Anton and Paz receive a severe god-linked debuff and a shunned marker, showing that Ogun regards their participation as betrayal. Carl tries to move Anton and Paz into Club Vanquisher and use divine countermeasures. Ogun manifests before they can escape. Anton, normally controlled, weeps and says it is too late. Carl's Black Nimbus does not prevent the god from enforcing his order. Ogun kills Anton during the confrontation, while Paz survives under continuing divine punishment and later conflict. Katia learns that Jinx's promise of a boon helped motivate Ines. Anton's death becomes part of Carl's distrust of sponsor-directed divine bargains and of Tipid's recurring lesson that the apparently best solution can create the worst result.
