The third floor is the Iron Tangle, a rail network of colored lines, stations, settlements, and moving trains. Its monsters cannot be understood apart from that infrastructure. Ghouls, Krakaren-related creatures, and localized threats pressure crawlers while the network itself divides groups, limits sightlines, and turns every missed train or blocked platform into a tactical problem.
This guide focuses on monster families confirmed in the third-floor story and on later-series context that changes how those enemies are understood. It is not a list of every hostile crawler, NPC, or environmental hazard. Rival crawlers and administrative decisions can be antagonistic without being monsters.
The most important design feature is coordination pressure. Individual encounters consume time and information while the floor's real puzzle requires crawlers to map routes collectively. A weak monster in the wrong station can be more dangerous than a stronger creature in a controlled room.
Overview
The Krakaren Clone is a Second Floor boss-level threat defeated through Carl and Donut's Plan Pied Piper, Second Chance, and explosive delivery tactics.
Description
The Krakaren Clone is one of the first major Second Floor boss threats.
Carl and Donut do not defeat it through direct combat. They use Rev-Up enemies, Donut's charm and teleportation, Carl's explosives, and the Second Chance spell to deliver a bomb in a way the boss cannot easily counter.
The fight is important because it shows how Carl and Donut's skill sets are becoming more specialized and more dangerous together.
Abilities and Threats
- Boss-level power
- Dangerous enough to punish direct fighting
- Connected to the Rev-Up environment
Weaknesses and Tactics
- Can be defeated through lures and indirect delivery
- Vulnerable to Carl and Donut's combined spell and explosive tactics
- Can be manipulated through the enemy environment

Ghouls as time pressure
Ghouls are effective on the Tangle because they turn a navigation mistake into a multiplying combat delay. Every minute spent clearing a landing can mean a missed train, a separated party, or the opening of another route behind the group. Their tactical role is therefore not limited to damage. They consume schedule and attention.
Corpses, copies, and classification
Second Chance and Clockwork Triplicate create bodies that resemble the original monster while operating under Donut's temporary control. Bestiary databases should record the base creature, reanimated state, and copied state separately. Otherwise a later query may incorrectly report the corpse's behavior as a natural Krakaren or ghoul ability.
What not to include
Hostile hunters are not yet part of this floor's design, and rival crawler violence belongs in character or faction records. Trains, broken switches, and collapsing routes are hazards rather than monsters. Keeping those boundaries clear allows this guide to link the surrounding systems without turning every danger into a creature entry.
Boss boundaries
The third floor contains set-piece threats, but not every difficult creature is a formal boss. Boss status should follow the interface, encounter framing, or a dedicated boss designation. A high-level monster blocking a line may be strategically decisive without belonging in the boss index.
This distinction helps compare rewards. Boss boxes and achievements may depend on formal classification, while clearing an ordinary swarm can produce greater practical value by reopening the only usable transfer station.
Map integration
Monster pages should link to a station only when the encounter location is confirmed. A creature seen on a train may cross several lines, so the train or route can be a better locator than the nearest named platform.
