Slit is a level 200 feral minor demon imprisoned in the Nothing after the original Ascendency conflict. She is one of Samantha's demon sisters and pursues her through a Fifth Floor bubble before Theia kills her. Slit spends an immense period in the Nothing and emerges violently unstable. The prison contains entities, discarded gods, and other beings removed from ordinary dungeon space. Her long confinement helps explain her feral classification without excusing the threat she poses. Slit is a kaiju-scale creature roughly one hundred feet tall. She combines reptilian and mammalian features, black wings, heavy makeup, pink or scaled skin, a huge whip, and a leather outfit shaped by the dungeon's sexualized demon aesthetic. Her arrival carries the smell of cigarettes. At level 200 she is far beyond the direct combat capacity of the crawlers who encounter her. Slit hates Psamathe, usually called Samantha, because of old lies, insults, and claims involving Slit's king. Samantha calls Slit one of her smaller sisters and suggests that Gash is more dangerous. Minge is another sister and was once closer to Samantha. The hostile family vocabulary presents the demon court as a network of grudges rather than a unified faction. When Samantha is brought outside under unusual conditions, Slit enters the Fifth Floor bubble and chases her. Carl cannot defeat Slit conventionally. He uses a xistera extension to throw Samantha's head approximately fifty kilometers, redirecting the pursuit and buying time. Theia, Samantha's mother, appears through sponsorship associated with the Pacifist Network. She kills Slit by ripping her in half. The death demonstrates that the only reliable counter to some divine or infernal threats is another entity operating at the same scale. Slit's escape and death become precedent for later confrontations with Minge and for plans that use demon hostility as bait. Her story also expands Samantha's history: jokes about sisters and former lovers correspond to beings capable of destroying arenas and populations. Slit is explicitly killed and is therefore listed as deceased.
