Transition between Books 5 and 6
Story and geography
The Seventh Floor is the Great Race, a one-way branching tube maze that Prepotente destroys almost immediately. The surviving crawlers move from the Sixth to the Eighth before undertaking the intended race. The planned course begins in Pole Position Chambers and feeds into hundreds of kilometers of one-way tubes, branching nodes, puzzle routes, limited zero-danger paths, pitstop safe rooms, and a central exit pull. Because the floor breaks within minutes, the crawlers do not travel enough of that geography to support a conventional route map.
How the floor changes the story
Destroying the Great Race demonstrates that a dungeon floor can be broken, deprives the survivors of progression time, and humiliates the production system. The Tenth Floor later uses a separate seven-heat format called Don't Come in Last. That consequence is why this location remains important after the immediate route closes.
How to read the map
No conventional route map is shown because the Great Race is destroyed before normal traversal. The atlas records the planned tube-maze concept and the broken threshold without inventing a journey the crawlers never make. The rendering is a reader aid, not a claim that the novels provide exact distances or a complete survey.
