Quasar is a Nullian attorney who represents Carl and the Princess Posse across increasingly complex Syndicate litigation. Profane, theatrical, and strategically capable, he creates legal entities, negotiates crawler exits, contests forced marriage and ownership claims, and translates outside political crises into advice Carl can use. Book 8 also reveals his family, legal education, and long resistance to anti-Nullian discrimination. Quasar is a green Nullian with a distinctive alien appearance, expressive profanity, and an expanding collection of Earth-themed neckties. His aggressive speech can sound unserious, but he reads contracts closely and recognizes traps hidden in apparently generous offers. Carl comes to rely on the difference between Quasar's performance and his professional judgment. He represents Carl during sponsor disputes, Faction Wars preparation, and exit negotiations. Quasar helps structure the Princess Posse and its fan revenues, protects Carl's interests where possible, and explains that Syndicate law often treats crawlers, pets, NPCs, and conquered populations as property rather than equal persons. Quasar briefs Carl after Faction Wars, explains widespread one-season indenture deals, and warns about chaos on the Twelfth and Eighteenth Floors. When offered terms promise freedom after a single season, he shows Carl the paperwork but refuses to call it safe. He also reports that no normal Eleventh Floor exit will be offered. Quasar sued for access to law school and won a decision from Judge Victory, establishing a public reputation before his crawler work. His longtime friend Kiki is another attorney. His brother and niece Tempest become targets when Princess Chandra hires Taurins to pressure or eliminate him; Tempest kills the attackers with an illegal blaster Quasar gave her. Quasar remains physically outside the tunnel network and continues representing Carl while arranging help for his family. Chandra's litigation and threats remain active, but the assassination attempt fails. His latest confirmed status is alive, professionally engaged, and preparing for further hearings as the Ascendency crisis expands.
