Hamed, also known as the Night Wyrm, is the leader of the Guild of Suffering, the husband of Astrid, and the father of Damascus Steel and Anaconda. He arranges the mission that leads Carl and Katia to kill Astrid, then assumes control of the Desperado Club and begins organizing an independent revolution among early-indentured NPC workers. Hamed is first encountered indirectly through the Night Wyrm role and a hidden upper-floor lair. Astrid reveals his real name shortly before her death. Carl later connects the name to the leader of the Guild of Suffering and to the tattooed network shared by several club performers. The Night Wyrm hires Carl and Katia to kill Astrid without initially revealing that she is his wife. The setup makes Carl's party an instrument in an internal family and guild conflict. Hamed's motive is not fully disclosed, and the deception remains a primary reason Carl distrusts him. Damascus Steel and Anaconda initially seek Hamed after learning of Astrid's death. By the Tenth Floor they appear to have joined his cause, and other male strippers also enter his sphere. Their decision may reflect persuasion, awakening, coercion, or shared goals. Carl trusts the performers more than he trusts Hamed. Hamed takes over the Desperado Club after Astrid's death. Redacted descriptions, altered guards, casino traps, and the Cosmic Lounge make the extent of his control difficult to measure. Splash Zone, Doctor Bones, and Gluteus Maxx request an audience and later stop answering messages. The System AI describes Hamed as a despot leading an ill-advised dungeon revolution for early-indentured NPCs, one of several groups competing for control or escape. Shadow Mimics are sent to disrupt him. He remains alive through the latest confirmed Book 8 material, but his ultimate plan and treatment of the strippers remain unresolved.
