The full-series master timeline follows the principal events of Dungeon Crawler Carl from the Collapse of Earth through the end of the Ninth Floor. The sequence is governed less by an Earth calendar than by the dungeon's floor clocks: survivors descend before each level collapses, while scenarios, political bargains, divine conflicts, and personal consequences continue across floor boundaries. What begins as the escape of two isolated survivors becomes an organized war involving crawlers, former crawlers, and dungeon-born people.

The Collapse and entry into the dungeon

Carl is outside near Seattle retrieving Princess Donut when every roofed structure on Earth is reclaimed. Because they are outdoors, both survive the initial destruction. A global announcement presents the catastrophe as a legally sanctioned planetary reclamation administered by the Borant Corporation and directs survivors toward newly opened entrances. With the temperature falling and no shelter left, Carl carries Donut underground.

The First Floor begins with a five-day collapse clock. Carl initially has no equipment suited to combat and little understanding of the interface, achievements, safe rooms, or the lethal entertainment built around the crawl. At a tutorial guild he meets Mordecai, who becomes his game guide. Carl's first prize boxes include an Enhanced Pet Biscuit. Donut eats it, transforms, gains speech and full crawler status, and forms the Royal Court of Princess Donut with Carl as her Royal Bodyguard.

Their early victories establish several patterns that persist throughout the crawl. Carl uses goblin machinery and explosives against the goblin settlement, but the resulting blast also kills noncombatants. The system converts those deaths into achievements, teaching him that dungeon rewards are deliberately separated from moral responsibility. Soon afterward, Carl and Donut choose to help the vulnerable Meadow Lark survivors. Their cooperation with Imani, Brandon, Chris, and the elderly residents during the Ball of Swine battle creates an alliance that lasts long after the original group is dispersed.

The Second Floor compresses the surviving population and makes public attention an increasingly important resource. Carl and Donut use an undead-bomb tactic against the Krakaren Clone, while interviews and recap episodes turn their choices into broadcast material. The crisis around the Rage Elemental then forces the Meadow Lark group into a prolonged defense. Carl's protective equipment, explosives, and use of the stairwell boundary remove a monster far above their normal combat level, although the system denies the kill credit when the creature dissolves at the boundary.

Before the next descent, Donut selects a Mongoliensis from a pet reward room. The creature becomes Mongo, her velociraptor companion and mount. Carl, Donut, Mongo, and the surviving allies reach the stairs with a durable party structure, a large audience, and enemies who now understand that Carl habitually turns dungeon rules against their intended purpose.

The Third Floor and the first continuing scenario

The Third Floor opens in the Over City with an eight-day deadline and only a little more than 700,000 crawlers still alive. Race and class selection makes earlier behavior part of each survivor's permanent build. Carl chooses the Primal race and the Compensated Anarchist class, formalizing his reliance on explosives, traps, unarmed combat, and public visibility. Donut becomes a Former Child Actor Cat. Katia Grim, an inexperienced Doppelganger sent to them through Hekla, joins the Royal Court and gradually becomes a central member rather than a temporary trainee.

The Grimaldi circus conflict demonstrates that individual floors are not self-contained stories. Signet initially appears to be the principal threat, but Carl learns that Grimaldi is being controlled and that the scenario belongs to the off-world program Vengeance of the Daughter. Instead of accepting the expected boss fight, Carl poisons Grimaldi and bargains through Zev with the program's producers. The resolution preserves Signet and carries her war against the High Elves forward toward the Sixth Floor.

The closing Over City crisis also leaves a physical consequence that cannot be discarded at the stairs. An overloaded soul crystal produces an unstable explosive stored in Carl's inventory. The item is named Carl's Doomsday Scenario and is powerful enough to endanger a city. Carl descends with it still active, turning a potential weapon into a continuing threat to himself and everyone nearby.

The Fourth Floor and the Iron Tangle

The Fourth Floor is the Iron Tangle, a network of colored rail lines, stations, portals, trains, maintenance routes, and disguised bosses. Its ten-day clock begins while crawler parties are scattered across a system none of them can map alone. Progress therefore depends on reports exchanged between groups. Station numbers, train behavior, engineer hats, transfer points, and hidden routes become pieces of a collective solution rather than clues reserved for one party.

During this floor, Carl receives The Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook. To observers it appears to be a novelty recipe book, but its concealed text contains editions written by dissident crawlers from earlier seasons. The Cookbook gives Carl technical advice and a history of attempted resistance. It also imposes secrecy: exposing its true nature could destroy the archive and reveal him as its current owner.

The conflict with Hekla brings the dangers within the crawler population into the open. Hekla's treatment of Katia and the mechanics of her crossbow show that her large organization treats followers as expendable resources. When the confrontation turns against Donut's party, Katia kills Hekla. Eva survives, carrying the feud forward, while Katia decisively remains with Carl and Donut.

The floor's endgame transforms the rail network itself into a weapon. Allied parties coordinate the movement of trains, city bosses, and crawler groups while the Tangle approaches self-destruction. The confrontation with Grull's manifested shell and Prince Maestro ties the active dungeon to sponsor politics and divine power. Emergency routes finally allow the surviving coalition to evacuate. By the descent, cooperation has expanded from a handful of linked parties into an operational network capable of moving large populations under a single plan.

The Fifth Floor and the Gate of the Feral Gods

The Fifth Floor begins with 178,887 crawlers divided among 1,172 separate bubble worlds. Each bubble contains its own scenario, and ordinary travel between them is impossible. This fragmentation makes the Gate of the Feral Gods strategically decisive. Its watches and winding box can open linked portals, but completing and operating it requires recovered components, coordinates, and careful timing. Each departure also releases a feral god into the abandoned bubble, so using the gate transfers danger rather than eliminating it.

Carl and his allies employ the gate as an evacuation system while fighting through the floor's separate crises. The underwater struggle involving the Akula and Lusca helps complete the device. Samantha, a powerful entity occupying a severed doll head, becomes attached to the group and brings connections to the gods and the Nothing that will persist beyond the immediate scenario.

The Fifth Floor also resolves the danger surrounding Chris. Maggie My has been controlling him through an infiltrator lodged inside his body. Carl and the others identify the intrusion and remove it; Maggie is killed while Chris survives. The outcome restores an ally from the original Meadow Lark group and closes a threat that began near the start of the crawl.

The gate's effect reaches far below the active level. Carl directs water, explosives, sharks, and other creatures through a portal into Larracos, the Ninth Floor's funnel city and faction market. Changelings are sent ahead with knowledge about their origin and the exploitation built into their assigned roles. The strike damages infrastructure intended for a later game and plants allies years of dungeon-time before the crawlers are scheduled to arrive there.

The Sixth Floor, the Masquerade, and the broken Seventh Floor

The Sixth Floor is the Hunting Grounds. It opens with 85,223 crawlers and 360 registered off-world hunters, who receive a grace period to prepare before being released. The visitors expect to kill contestants for equipment and prestige. Crawler parties instead share information, fortify settlements, set ambushes, and begin eliminating the hunters. The change is historical: the prey population is now organized well enough to reverse a commercial hunt designed for wealthy participants.

Earlier storylines converge on the Sixth Floor. Miriam Dom becomes the source of a spreading vampiric condition and chooses death to stop it, leaving Prepotente bereaved and enraged. Signet's campaign against the High Elves reaches the Butcher's Masquerade, where crawlers, hunters, changelings, and scenario forces collide. Signet dies during the climax, but the operation destroys the surviving hunter advantage and helps secure a Ninth Floor faction for the crawler coalition.

Eva's final act creates a different kind of future crisis. She places the Crown of the Sepsis Whore on Katia before dying. Donut had previously worn the same unique crown, whose succession rule prevents two former wearers from leaving the Ninth Floor by the normal route. Katia and Donut are therefore placed on an apparent collision course two floors before the restriction becomes active.

The crawlers descend to the Seventh Floor, the Great Race, but its planned contest never begins. Using clues connected to Miriam, Prepotente recognizes that the enormous glass structure enclosing the level works like a Prince Rupert's drop. He creates a critical crack and destroys the floor. The level remains available for only about ten minutes before survivors are pulled through its exits. The Seventh Floor is thus a transition and act of sabotage rather than a conventional campaign.

The Eighth Floor and the Ghosts of Earth

The Eighth Floor, the Ghosts of Earth, reconstructs regions of the destroyed planet and divides crawlers into squads. Its T'Ghee system turns monsters, effects, and other entities into cards used in formal battles. Later phases revolve around keys: squads must defeat designated keyholders and bring compatible keys to their original exits. The arrangement encourages crawlers to fight one another just before Faction Wars, but alliances formed on earlier floors allow many groups to coordinate instead.

Katia searches for an alternative to the crown's Ninth Floor condition, including a plan connected to the restoration of Yemaya. Carl and Katia also carry out an operation inside the Desperado Club that kills Astrid, removing one of Mordecai's oldest enemies. These personal objectives unfold alongside the larger contest for cards and keys, so the floor's apparent tournament structure continually intersects with debts created in previous books.

Shi Maria enters the party's deck as the Bedlam Bride, an intelligent and hostile totem. In the final Cuba battle she combines with Carl, temporarily controls his body, and takes one of Li Jun's eyes. When the transformation ends, she does not disappear: the Eye of the Bedlam Bride remains as a mark on Carl's chest and a presence within him. The Eighth Floor therefore ends with the coalition qualified for Faction Wars but carrying unresolved divine, political, and internal threats into the next level.

The Ninth Floor and Faction Wars

The Ninth Floor opens with 32,429 crawlers, ten competing factions, a sixty-hour ceasefire, and a maximum thirty-day clock that contracts to ninety hours once a winner is declared. Carl and Donut serve as warlords of the Princess Posse. Their coalition includes crawler armies and more than fifty thousand former crawlers who voluntarily return as mercenaries. Team Retribution, led by Juice Box and Ferdinand, represents awakened dungeon-born people and holds Larracos.

The ceasefire turns the relationships built since Meadow Lark into a military command structure. Battalions, sappers, air units, medics, tunnel crews, summoned forces, and NPC allies prepare different fronts. Operation Ruin launches four coordinated offensives when open hostilities begin. Carl and Donut remain crucial commanders, but the scale of battle no longer permits either of them to solve every objective personally.

The war exacts losses from the original coalition. Li Jun dies after creating the opening required for Donut's War Crime attack. The conflict over the crown is resolved without Katia and Donut fighting: Katia chooses a pregnancy boon from Eileithyia and is removed from the active crawl. Her departure ends the crown's immediate restriction while separating her from the party she joined on the Third Floor.

Faction Wars ends through the removal of its central city rather than its capture. Zerzura transfers Larracos, Shanty Town, and many of their inhabitants to the Twelfth Floor. Once Juice Box and Ferdinand leave the realm, the rules treat them as having abandoned their warlord posts. Team Retribution is defeated and the Princess Posse is declared the winner.

Victory does not stabilize the level. Emberus begins destroying the Ninth Floor, forcing the survivors toward the next stairwells with only minutes remaining. The descent closes the chronology that began outside Carl's apartment: the crawl has changed from individual flight into an organized resistance with military reach, historical knowledge, and alliances among people the dungeon's designers intended to keep divided.
