Eris

Eris is the goddess of chaos and a participant in the Celestial Ascendency. During the Ninth Floor she is driven by the model and influencer Nami, who outbids the Priory for the sponsorship. Eris's Ceremony of Chaos pulls mortals and divine entities into an invulnerable witness state and helps produce one of Faction Wars' most unstable confrontations. Eris is associated with chaos and belongs to the divine family around Taranis, Apito, Emberus, Hellik, and Yarilo. Her domain produces changing effects for anyone entering her range. Even the Krakaren boss description jokes that Eris wants nothing to do with the collective, emphasizing how extreme its disorder appears. Nami undergoes surgery to resemble Eris and an earlier Earth crawler, then wins the right to drive the goddess. The Priory normally supplies a different priestess pilot. Nami's voice resembles Hekla because of the deliberate imitation, not because Hekla survived or became Eris. Eris can perform a once-only ritual that summons mortal witnesses to an Ascendency ceremony. The witnesses are conscious but unable to move and receive protection from gods until Eris releases them. On the Ninth Floor she panic-casts the ceremony, draws an enormous group into a pile, and accidentally grants protection to Meatus while becoming trapped in the resulting ball. The War Mage faction attempts to control Eris and other gods. Removing the goddess's soul armor ejects Nami, who is then killed before she can reform safely. Eris remains a separate divine being within the battle, while Harpocrates, Yarilo, Meatus, Li Na, Donut, and multiple armies collide around her. Carl later hears Eris-like laughter within the river of consciousness, suggesting that her influence persists beyond the immediate shell. He is also named a friend of her church for reasons he does not understand. Eris is not confirmed dead; only Nami's sponsored participation ends decisively.
